Federal Gold Medal of Honor – Highest award for WESA delicatessen
We are delighted to announce that our company, WESA-Feinkost, has been awarded the 2025 Federal Gold Prize – the highest quality award in the German food industry!
In the “Small Business” category, we received this honorable award for our outstanding achievements in quality and sustainability. The certificate and medal were presented to us by Ministerial Director Gaby Kirschbaum and Ulrich Westrup, member of the board of the German Agricultural Society (DLG), during the 15th Berlin Milk Forum.
The Federal Award stands for credibility and appreciation of quality and sustainability achievements in the German food industry. As Ulrich Westrup emphasized, the award winners “have recognized the signs of the times and are pursuing sustainable, innovative approaches.” We process valuable resources with the highest level of expertise into products of first-class quality – and always remain true to our commitment to quality and enjoyment.
Each year, the Federal Award of Honor for Dairy Products is presented to a maximum of nine companies in the dairy industry based on their results in the latest DLG quality test for milk and dairy products. The best four products of the Federal Award winners must have achieved a DLG gold medal. In addition, depending on their company size, the Federal Award winners are required to meet additional sustainability criteria. These include, among other things, GMO-free production, participation in regional and/or animal welfare programs, energy management, resource-saving production, and other ecological criteria.
The classification into the three categories of small, medium-sized, and large companies is based on the amount of milk processed or the milk equivalent processed by the award winners. Within each category, a maximum of one Federal Award in gold, silver, and bronze is awarded.
We are incredibly proud and grateful to receive the Federal Award for the 17th time, and for the fourth time in gold this year!
